01 Grand PalaceRoyal residence complex to some of the Kings of Thailand.

Late 18th century palace complex of wonderful buildings and home to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Probably the most famous 'landmark' in the whole of the kingdom, certainly Bangkok, this whole area would be fair to be classed as a must-visit when in Bangkok.

02 Wat ArunAncient temple on the edge of the Chao Phraya river.

Beautiful temple and one of the most recognisable landmarks in Bangkok, Wat Arun, under different names, dates back to the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Features a large central prang (carved tower-like spire).

03 MBK Center8 floor mall, probably Bangkok's most-famous shopping center.

Mahboonkrong is one of the busiest and still most popular shopping malls in Bangkok, both with tourists and locals. Whilst lacking some of the style of the more modern malls, it makes up for that with a wider selection of shops and goods, also at slightly lower prices. It has an excellent selection of mobile phones and electronic goods taking up the whole of the 4th floor.

04 Asiatique The RiverfrontRiverside dining, entertainment and large night bazaar.

Hugely popular riverfront night market, set around a pier location, features many upscale restaurants, fast-food stalls, a food hall, small boutique shops, larger air-conditioned shops, ferris-wheel, Muay Thai Live show, cabaret show, and more. Plenty to do and plenty to eat.
